Celebrating 30 Years of A Fund for Women

At their annual event on Thursday, May 18, the Madison Community Foundation celebrated 30 years of A Fund for Women, and the Odyssey Project (and alumnus Char Braxton) was prominently featured in AFFW’s anniversary video.

A Fund For Women was started in 1993, when a group of women started a fund that focused on women’s philathropy, contributing $100,000 to start an endowment. Since that start, many other people have contributed to A Fund for Women through gifts, by creating their own named funds, and through their estates. Today, that original $100,000 has grown to nearly $4 million, and gives out more than $100,000 in grants each year to support women and girls in our community.
