A Celebration of Voting
Leading up to both the midterm and presidential elections, the UW Odyssey Project hosts a voting event in an effort to both inspire and promote voting. With the help of a few sponsors, Odyssey dedicates this event to informing voters of the logistics and the importance that go along with placing a vote. All are welcome to join us at the Urban League, including past and present Odyssey students, supporters of Odyssey, and other community members. Attendees will enjoy hearing Odyssey students, past and present, read their “Why Vote” essays, and are also given the opportunity to both register to vote and submit their official votes next door at the Goodman South Madison Library. We hope that those who attend will help us spread the word about voting and emphasize the fact that every vote truly does count!
Odyssey Graduation
Since the UW Odyssey Project began in 2003, there has been a graduation ceremony following each academic year dedicated to those that complete two semesters and receive six UW-Madison credits. Friends and families of the students, along with other supporters of Odyssey, come together to recognize and celebrate each member of the graduating class. This ceremony includes food, drinks, and the chance to hear each student read something from a text that impacted them, or something that they wrote themselves during class. This event is one of our favorites, so you don’t want to miss it!
