Odyssey Family Learning Center

On Monday and Tuesday evenings during the academic year, Odyssey students (both past and present) and their families are invited to our classroom from 5-8 PM. At the Family Learning Center, you can expect to find faculty and tutors providing one-on-one support and homework help, academic and financial advisors, connections to various community resources, workshops presented monthly by UW-Madison and other community organizations, and child enrichment activities for your children. Our tutors come from a wide variety of backgrounds (e.g., graduate students, retired professors, academic staff, writing teachers, social workers, etc.), but all of them write as a part of their daily, professional lives. This volunteer team is dedicated to working with our students as they turn their ideas into essays, editorials, textual analyses, personal narratives, scholarship essays, resumes and cover letters, research papers, and other writing projects. In addition to writing and reading, they can also help with a variety of other subjects–math, biology, chemistry, statistics, sociology, etc. If any of our students are struggling with a specific class, we try our best to find someone in the larger Madison community who can provide the support they need to be successful.
