Sponsor a 2022 graduate and honor mothers past and present

Cynthia and her daughter

Will you sponsor one or more of our 30 Odyssey Project graduates this year as they receive UW–Madison credits during another difficult year? While reading Plato, studying Frida Kahlo, and acting out scenes from Lorraine Hansberry, students have contracted COVID themselves; others have lost loved ones and fought against depression, homelessness, and unemployment. Show them our community applauds their resilience and cares about their futures.

This Mother’s Day, consider honoring a mother in your own life or in our class through your gift. A full student sponsorship of $1,000 covers graduation costs associated with a grand celebration at Great Hall in Memorial Union featuring UW Chancellor Rebecca Blank and Bucky Badger, a gift bag of books and educational materials, professional headshots and family portraits by award-winning photographer Hedi LaMarr Rudd (Odyssey ’12), a class yearbook, and a monetary gift to help graduates continue on their educational journeys. Donations of any amount — whether $5, $50, $500, or $1,000 — will help make sure the entire class feels the love.

Odyssey alumna Annette notes, “My graduation was the best time ever. Some of the guests assured me that they’d been to many graduations but nothing compared to Odyssey’s. The support and love from all of the graduates’ families and friends was so thick you could’ve cut it with a knife. If I had to store this day somewhere, nothing would be big enough to contain it. It was an awesome, beautiful, marvelous, outstanding, and unforgettable day.”

Whether joining us in person or via Zoom on May 4, please watch as students and even whole families cross the stage. Help us celebrate the transformative power of our multigenerational program!
